Bangkok, March 2026 — ASEAN Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (AGJA) is stepping forward as co-organizer of Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok (JGAB) 2026, taking place from April 22–25, 2026 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). This is a significant milestone for AGJA as it introduces its “New Formula” designed to strengthen regional integration, enhance market access, and elevate ASEAN’s position in the global gems and jewelry industry.

“The global jewelry market is heading toward a USD 450 billion future, and with nearly half of that growth centered in Asia-Pacific, the days of ASEAN being seen as just a ‘factory floor’ are over.” says Mr. Suttipong Damrongsakul, President of AGJA. “We are now a unified market of 600 million people with the power to set our own pace. Through the ‘New Formula’ at JGAB 2026, we are launching the Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Summit and the ASEAN Young Gen Community to bridge the gap between our ancestors’ mastery and the digital leadership of our youth. We aren’t just following global trade anymore; we are here to lead it.”

Strategic Connector: A New Value Chain

AGJA is shifting from traditional representation to a “strategic connector” role, linking the region’s suppliers and manufacturers to China, India, the Middle East, and beyond.

  • Regional Processing Logic: A framework to organize the value chain—from raw materials to finished products—keeping value creation within ASEAN;
  • Global Intersection: Positioning Bangkok as the primary trading hub between the East and the West.

Strengthening Trust Through Structure

To stabilize a volatile market and strengthen market confidence, AGJA is introducing two new verification standards.

  • Material Certainty Boundary: A system to manage and stabilize material flow across the supply chain;
  • Provenance Integrity Standard: A transparent, traceable framework to meet rising global expectations for accountability.

Market Opportunity & SME Growth

Backed by Informa Markets Thailand’s global databases and business matching systems, JGAB 2026 serves as the execution platform for these strategies, bringing verified buyers into contact with regional suppliers.

  • Scale: 400+ exhibitors from 15 countries and 10,000+ expected visitors from 60 nations;
  • SME Impact: Supported by regional subsidies, SME participation has surged by 25%, with over 100 local enterprises entering the global stage;
  • Sourcing Highlights: Specialized international pavilions including Sri Lanka’s “Mine to Masterpiece” sapphires and “Made in Japan” fine jewelry.

Future Readiness: ASEAN Summit and ASEAN Young Gen Community
The centerpiece of AGJA’s “New Formula” is future readiness; JGAB 2026 will host the Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Summit 2026, themed “New Formula 2026: Scaling Success through Technology & Connection,” with a focus on three strategic pillars:

  • Technology & Resilience: Leveraging digital innovation to stabilize regional trade against 2026 market pressures, including precious metal price volatility;
  • Talent & Continuity: Launching the ASEAN Young Gen Showcase—the premier touchpoint for the ASEAN Young Gen Community—to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and tech-driven industry leadership;
  • Collaboration & Connection: Lining up 10 member nations—Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei—as a unified market of 600 million people to compete globally.

Global Hub by Numbers

  • 45%: The Asia-Pacific region’s dominant share of the global gems and jewelry market;
  • USD 26.8 Billion: Thailand’s total gems and jewelry exports in 2025;
  • 12,000: Updated visitor estimate based on record-breaking pre-registration interest.

Never more critical has Thailand’s role as a gateway been, as AGJA’s “New Formula” transforms decades of craftsmanship into a modernized, tech-driven trade engine. By unifying the region’s manufacturing power with new standards of trust, Bangkok is now positioned to navigate the “Great Transition” of a USD 450 billion global market by 2030.

JGAB 2026 invites industry professionals, buyers, designers, and investors from around the world to be part of ASEAN’s next phase of growth.

About AGJA

ASEAN Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (AGJA) serves as the primary trade anchor and unified bargaining force for Southeast Asia. By leveraging a regional processing logic, we synchronize the specialized production strengths of 10 member nations to transform raw geological rarities into verified market assets—each authenticated by a “global passport” powered by rigorous provenance integrity standards—and extend our trade network beyond. Now with ASEAN commanding an 80% global market share in ruby and sapphire refinement, AGJA upholds market trust through a strict material certainty boundary to insulate the regional brand from unverified claims. These protocols allow us to navigate the “Great Transition” of a USD 450 billion global market by 2030, positioning ASEAN gemstones as a premier alternative investment for a new generation of wealth.
