ASEAN Gems and Jewellery Trade Association (AGJA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Gems & Jade Exchange (CGE), which is appointed as “AGJA Secretarial Office” in Shanghai China and joined as a partner in taking members to attend the China International Import Expo 2024 (CIIE) which will be held on 5- 10 November 2024 in Shanghai, China

As a result of this signing of the CGE appointment, it is expected that there will be more than 200 members from China joining the association in 2024. The association foresees the benefits from this cooperation for members as a whole. In terms of exchanging information, innovation, and cutting-edge production technology in China, as well as receiving trade and investment benefits. China is ASEAN's largest trading partner. The bilateral trade value in 2021 is US$669 billion, an increase of 29 percent from the previous year, according to the World Economic Forum. The Chinese market has a strong demand for gemstones such as rubies, sapphires and emeralds as gifts and investments. more

Additionally, AGJA members will have the opportunity to attend China International Import Expo 2024 (CIIE), an international trade fair. to negotiate trade and promote imports in accordance with China's policy of economic openness. It is a forum for economic and trade cooperation between China and countries around the world. It is an important forum for AGJA members to expand the market into China.
